I spent years inside a large remodeling company with locations across Wisconsin –  Madison, Milwaukee, and Baraboo – working my way through sales, then sales management, and eventually as Director of Sales and Marketing. I didn’t learn marketing from the outside looking in. I learned it from the inside, where the marketing decisions show up directly in install schedules, dealer relationships, and whether the sales team hits their numbers.

That experience is the foundation of Six Tides.
After years of seeing what actually moves a remodeling or building materials business — and what doesn’t — I started an agency to help other contractors grow. What I found again and again was that most companies in this space don’t need another vendor. They need someone in the room who understands the whole business: the marketing, yes, but also the financial performance, the personnel, the dealer network, the install capacity, and the opportunities sitting in plain sight that nobody’s had time to map.

That’s the role I take on now as an embedded fractional marketing director — strategy, lead generation, branding, web, AI, and ads, backed by a real understanding of how building materials and remodeling businesses actually operate day to day.

Beyond the work
Outside of Six Tides, I’m endlessly curious about systems — how things move, cycle, and connect. I’m interested in water scarcity in the Western US and worldwide, dams, scientific phenomena (tides and tidal locking being a personal favorite — yes, that’s where the name comes from), and the kind of energy that live music brings to a room or a community.

 I’m based in Madison, WI, and I care a lot about the communities I work in — not just the businesses, but the people and places around them.
